She raised all her children to be passionate, educated and compassionate adults and to always have a sense of humor and fun. Subsequent to her 1962 divorce, she married Kermit Baughman and had one daughter. She became an American citizen in 1952 and passionately loved her adopted country. They married in 1948, lived in Germany, Africa and the United States and they had four children on three different continents. At that time, she also met her husband-to-be, Wallace MacLeod, a United States Airman. The family was reunited at the war's end. She and her sister escaped Russian occupation but were separated from their family.
